Thanksgiving Recipe Idea

Try this new twist on sweet potatoes - full of healthful fiber, plus Vitamins A and C.  Happy Thanksgiving from Foodwise, LLC.  Enjoy!

Try this recipe for Acorn Squash!

With Thanksgiving coming up next week, here's another great fall recipe to try:

Acorn Squash with Apple-Cranberry Chutney

 

 

 

Serves 6

 

3 T. fresh cranberries

2 T. dark raisins

1 cup brandy or apple cider

3 acorn squash

1 T + 3t. butter (divided use)

1 cup diced onions

2 T. brown sugar

3 T. cider vinegar

2 T. apricot preserves (or orange marmalade)

4 tart green apples, cored, and diced

2 T. golden raisins

Fall is squash season - be sure to try this delicious recipe for butternut or Delicata squash, from Deborah Madison's book "Local Flavors: Cooking and Eating from America's Farmers' Markets".  It's quick, easy, and nutritious.  Enjoy!
